UFC Fighter Usman Says Plans Underway To Set Up Sporting Academy in Nigeria

Nigeria’s Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC, fighter, Kamarudeen Usman says plans are underway to set up a sporting Academy in Nigeria.

The Multi-decked Ambassador said this in Abuja, Nigeria when he paid a familiarisation visit to the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

According to him, setting up the Academy is a way to give back to the nation.

The International Sports celebrity noted that the Academy would train Nigerian youths on his expertise: kick-boxing, boxing and mixed martial arts.

He encouraged youths to work hard, noting that no impossibility is insurmountable if believed.

Usman, who has been away from Nigeria for over a decade, said he was happy to be home, despite discouragement from individuals.

On her part, the NIDCOM boss, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said “his homecoming, brings a message of hope, to signify Nigeria’s unity in diversity.”

Dabiri-Erewa described him as a kind-hearted Champion, who wants to empower the youths of Nigeria, in the area of sports.

She called on other Nigerian Diaspora to follow Usman’s noble example, in contributing to the country’s development, in their various capacities.

She told the UFC fighter that the Commission is ever ready to assist him in implementing his vision.
