The University of Liberia College of Health Sciences (ULCHS) has received full accreditation from the Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) to offer direct entry to BSc in Midwifery.
The decision was announced by LBNM authorities, through a letter addressed to the Vice President for the College of Health Sciences at the University of Liberia, Bernice T. Dahn.
In a statement signed by the LBNM Chairperson, Humphrey Gibbs Loweal and LBNM Registrar/Executive Secretary Cecelia C. Kpangbala-Flomo, ULCHS has met 92% of the total standards and verification criteria, resulting in full accreditation.
A school must meet 80% or above of the achievement standards to achieve full accreditation and recognition status.

LBNM will conduct Quality Assurance (QA) assessments in the first two years of ULCHS’ operation, adding that classroom standards would be included in the assessment.
LBNM requires that all Midwifery students be indexed in the first sixty days of admission using the LBNM indexing portal.
Each student will receive a Clinical Logbook after the successful and timely completion of the indexing process.
The Vice President of the College of Health Sciences, Bernice T. Dahn welcomed the assessment team as they presented the letter to the school, added that ULCHS can start academic activities in Midwifery.
With this accreditation, ULCHS is empowered to provide quality education in midwifery while maintaining the high standards required by LBNM.
