Up-To-Date Science Lab Will Improve Education Standard- Ogun Commissioner

The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has said that an up-to-date laboratory will help raise the standard of education.

He said this at the unveiling of a renovated and re-equipped Physics and Biology laboratories by Rotary Club of Omole-Golden for Ajuwon High School.

Arigbabu who was represented by a director,  Rukiyat Adeoba, stated that the gesture would go a long to assist the students in Science education.

He said; “This is great and it has always been like that by the Club, Omole-Golden District 9110. Over the years they have contributed immensely to the development of education in Ogun State. I am extremely delighted for the immense contributions so far and I equally implore the school to take up the responsibility and ensure judicious use of the facility.

“This effort is a way of giving back to the society and we urge spirited individuals and corporate bodies to as well join in this regard to support such initiative.

The District Governor for Rotary International District 9110 comprising about 131 Rotary Clubs in Lagos and Ogun States, Aderemi Bello, explained that” Science is the bedrock of any development and giving back in this form, is a way to introduce science to the students because good laboratories will allow them to see the practical of what they have been taught.”

“In the World over, Science is very key, it is so fundamental to any development you have around and that is why we give priority to it.”

The President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden District 9110, Favour Madu, said that the laboratories would create an enabling atmosphere for the science students to learn.

She said, “We have been able to complete the entire blocks and it have Biology, Chemistry and Physics laboratories which currently has standard equipped accessories that will make learning easier and faster.”
