President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that suggestions by the United States linking Russia to the high profile ransomware attacks the recently experienced, were absurd and an attempt to stir trouble ahead of his summit with U.S. President Joe Biden later this month.

The Ransomware attack on Brazilian meatpacker, JBS’s facilities in the United States , reported this week, is the third of such since Biden took office in January.

The White House however said on Wednesday that Biden, who is due to hold talks with Putin in Geneva on June 16, is expected to discuss the hacking attack with the Russian leader to see what Moscow could do to prevent such cyber assaults.

“It’s just nonsense, it’s funny, It’s absurd to accuse Russia of this” – Putin
