Victor Osimhen Confirms Comeback After Injury

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has officially announced his return to action, targeting the club’s next league match against Antalyaspor on October 19, immediately following the international break.

The 25-year-old sustained an injury during Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa but revealed in a video message that he’s on track to make a swift recovery. This news comes as a great relief to Galatasaray supporters who initially feared a longer absence, possibly stretching into November, after he was diagnosed with a muscle strain.

Osimhen’s injury occurred shortly after he scored two goals in the game, leading to his substitution at halftime. The club quickly confirmed that the forward had already begun treatment. His injury also ruled him out of Nigeria’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.

Although the initial prognosis suggested a six-week layoff, Osimhen confidently stated in a video circulating on social media, “After the international break,” when asked by Turkish journalist Caner Isbegendiren about his expected return date.

Osimhen’s early return is a significant boost for Galatasaray. Turkish football analyst Emre Sarıgül noted, “Osimhen’s return will be a massive lift for Galatasaray. His goal-scoring ability and physical presence will make a significant difference in the Süper Lig.”

Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, Osimhen has made a strong impact, with two goals and four assists in just four appearances across all competitions. His presence is crucial for Galatasaray as they aim to maintain their lead in the Turkish Super Lig and defend their title.

Adding to his early-season achievements, Osimhen recently won the Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Week award, securing 77.96% of the votes for his remarkable goal against Kasimpasa.

Despite his brief absence, Osimhen remains a beloved figure among fans, who turned out in large numbers to welcome him at Istanbul Airport when he arrived to complete his loan move. With his return now confirmed, Galatasaray fans are optimistic that the Nigerian forward will continue his outstanding form and lead the team to more victories in the coming weeks.
