Women In Governance: Conference Charges Women To Build Work-Life Balance

It was a gathering that brought together inspiring women leaders, policymakers, and advocates to discuss the future of governance.

Association Of Corporate Governance Professionals Of Nigeria organized the sixth edition of women in governance conference an event dedicated to advancing women’s roles in leadership and decision-making across the globe.

The theme of this year’s edition is Women Voices In Decision Making: Catalyst To Breaking Barriers

With a focus on promoting women in governance, the conference explored key strategies to increase women’s representation in leadership roles—both in the public and private sectors.

Two-time Former Minister Of Industry In Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Nike Akande spoke on women lifting other women.

Also speaking at the event, MD/CEO FAE Envelopes, Layo Bakare Okeowo praised the organiser for believing in women.

One of the key speakers, Director Of Soulmate, Angela Ijeoma Ndukwe Ajala, emphasized the need for more women to be part of decision-making processes at every level, calling for action to break barriers in politics, corporate governance, and beyond.

The second session of the event took it a notch higher when chairman, Access Bank Plc board, Dr. Mrs Dere Awosika MFR MNI spoke on Building Resilience: Strategies For Women In Governance.

Chairperson Of The Event’s Planning Committee, Ebisan Onyema Mni, Fcgp Shared Insights On Planning Of The Event.

Panel discussions at the conference covered a wide range of topics, from policy reforms to support work-life balance for women in leadership, to building networks and alliances that can pave the way for future generations of female leaders.

Beyond the sessions, the event also provided a platform for networking, allowing participants to build lasting connections that will continue to shape their journeys in governance.
