Youth Influence On Nigeria’s Future

In Nigeria’s unfolding story, the youth are no longer just the leaders of tomorrow—they are powerful voices shaping the narrative today. With over 60% of the population under the age of 30, the energy, creativity, and determination of young Nigerians are becoming the country’s most vital force for change.

Every year, something special happens in the University of Lagos, called —The Convention, the flagship event of the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS UNILAG). Far from the confines of lecture halls and academic theories, this annual gathering becomes a vibrant stage where Nigeria’s next generation of political thinkers step into the real world of governance and policy.

Designed as more than just a talk shop, The Convention brings students face-to-face with political leaders and policy experts, creating a rare opportunity for meaningful exchange.

Here, young minds critically analyze the dynamics of Nigeria’s governance, confront the gaps between policy ideals and harsh realities, and work together to craft practical solutions.

By the end, students walk away not just informed but inspired to participate, advocate, and shape the future of policy-making in Nigeria. The Convention isn’t just an event; it’s where engagement meets empowerment.
