2023 Diamond League: Amusan Rakes In $56,000, Diamond Trophy …Brume Makes $18,750 In Prize Money

Diamond League champion, Tobi Amusan raked in a total of $56,000 in prize money from her participation in the 2023 Wanda Diamond League while long jumper, Ese Brume makes $18,750.

This excludes whatever they were paid as appearance fee and bonus fee from adidas, their kits sponsors.

Amusan, who made history in Oregon on Sunday by becoming the second woman in Diamond League history to win three straight 100m hurdles title, got paid $30,000 for winning on Sunday.

She also got paid $10,000 each for winning in Stockholm, Sweden and Silesia, Poland in July and $6,000 for placing second behind Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in Laussane, Switzerland in June.

In addition to the prize money, the Nigerian was also awarded a Diamond Trophy for winning the high hurdles title.

Brume also returned home with $18,750 with two third of the money ($12,000) coming from placing second in the final on Sunday.

She got $3,500 for placing third in Xiamen, China early this month; $2,000 for coming fourth in Florence, Italy in June, $1,250 for placing fifth in Stockholm and $1,000 for coming in eighth in Monaco.

Meanwhile, the incredible duo will certainly rise in their individual and overall world rankings.

While Amusan dropped from first at the start of the season to third before the Diamond League final in the 100m hurdles behind Camacho-Quinn and Kendra Harrison, Brume dropped from third at the start of the year to fourth before Sunday’s event in Oregon.
