2027 Elections: PDP Remains United, Defectors Will Face Action – Damagum

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has reiterated the party’s unity and issued a stern warning to individuals working to undermine its stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, following a crucial National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, Damagum emphasized that the PDP remains a cohesive force, particularly after the reinstatement of Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.

Damagum cautioned members who engage in actions that “demarket” the party, stating that disciplinary measures will be taken at the appropriate time.

“To those considering leaving, they should reconsider—no party is as accommodating as ours. But if they choose to go, I wish them luck. However, I am confident many will return,” he said.

He further declared, “Let me be clear—any PDP member involved in damaging the party’s image is being monitored. We will take the necessary action when the time comes.”
