Anthony Joshua has now exceeded $200 million in career earnings, establishing himself as one of boxing’s top earners and surpassing heavyweight rival Tyson Fury and rising star Gervonta Davis.
The former two-time heavyweight champion brought in $75 million from his fights in 2024 alone, ranking him second in yearly earnings, just behind Canelo Alvarez. While Alvarez’s in-ring earnings matched Joshua’s, he edged out the British star by $2 million in non-fight revenue.
In 2024, Fury, 36, added $50 million to his total, bringing his career earnings to $150 million—still considerably behind Joshua’s impressive total.
Meanwhile, Davis, 30, has accumulated $50 million since his pro debut, with recent bouts against Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin contributing nearly $20 million to his income. Garcia himself has emerged as a pay-per-view sensation, amassing over $40 million in his career so far.
Joshua’s financial rise gained momentum after his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr. in Saudi Arabia, where he earned $65 million. His next two fights with Oleksandr Usyk added another $40 million to his total earnings.
The Watford-born star further boosted his fortune with a $50 million payday from his high-profile showdown against Francis Ngannou last year. Additional big-money fights include $12 million purses for bouts with Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius, as well as substantial earnings from six sell-out events at Wembley and Principality Stadium.
Currently recovering from injuries sustained in his recent loss to Daniel Dubois, the 35-year-old Joshua is eyeing a potential future clash with Fury. The two-time champion is awaiting the outcome of the upcoming Usyk vs. Fury rematch before planning his next steps.
With one fight left on his Riyadh Season contract, it’s anticipated that His Excellency Turki Alalshikh will offer a substantial sum to set up an all-British showdown, should the opportunity arise.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently confirmed that Joshua won’t return to the ring until at least May 2024, ruling out an immediate rematch with current IBF world heavyweight champion Dubois.
“We have one final chapter in his career that we need to get 100% right,” Hearn shared with Boxing News. “When he comes back in May or June, or whenever it may be, he has to be physically and mentally 100% prepared.”
