SPACE.COM || PRESIDENT BUHARI COMMISSIONS LAGOS-IBADAN RAIL LINE, OPEN FOR USE
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the Ebute-Meta Rail Line, now renamed Mobolaii Johnson Station. Environment Correspondent Gimalo-Angel Olowogoke reports that the President arrived the venue in a chopper at about 11am Thursday morning.
There was tight security as Alagomeji was totally cordoned off. Neighbours were excited as they had the President visit their neighbourhood. The president pledged that his administration would continue to prioritise the railway system as a transportation backbone that can transform industrial and economic activity in the country.
On the benefits of the Lagos-Ibadan corridor as well as other ongoing railway projects across the country, President Buhari said: ‘This vital line establishes an end-to-end logistic supply chain in railway transport within its short corridor, Lagos – Ibadan, as goods to the hinterland would now be transported by rail directly from the Apapa port Quayside straight to the Inland Container Depot located in Ibadan from where it can be distributed to other parts of the country.
Some respondents that spoke with LN247 News Correspondent said they wanted the President to open amusement park for the children and also provide employment for the people through the opening of the Station. The Station is presently open to the public.

HEALTH TIPS || HOW TO GET RID OF SUNBURN
Getting sunburn can be really annoying and difficult to handle, especially when it’s on the most visible parts of the body such as the face. What’s even worse is that sunburn can actually lead to other health consequences, depending on its severity. While Pain, severe itching, dryness, and peeling of the skin are immediate consequences of sunburn, Sun poisoning and skin cancers are some of the major long-term consequences of sunburn.
Sunburn is bad enough anywhere on the body but when it is on your face, there is nowhere for it to hide. Sunburn could lead to less confidence in one’s look, which is why sunburn should be treated immediately one gets them. So here are some quick remedies for treating sunburn on your face and the good thing is that they aren’t difficult to carry out. Let’s get right into them First, for immediate relief from the burning sensation, you should place a cool compress on your face. A cold, wet towel is your best option here. You can add a bit of ice but make sure you don’t rub your face, as this will aggravate the sunburn. Next, put some aloe vera juice on your face as soon as you get burned. The best way is to extract the gel or juice before applying it on your face in order to avoid the jagged edges of the aloe leaf from scrubbing against your burns, thereby causing you more injuries.
The earlier you apply aloe vera, the better the chances of your skin healing fast. Ideally, you are to put the aloe juice on the burn before and after the cold compress. Remember to reapply the aloe gel regularly. More importantly, keep your face out of the sun! Exposing yourself to more sun rays will worsen your current sunburn. Because your face is one of the most exposed parts of your body, you should keep it safe by wearing a hat and applying SPF(popularly called sunscreen) before stepping out. Adhering to these simple home remedies will help bring relief from sunburn itch and speed your healing process. Most importantly, avoid chemical-based lightening products when treating your sunburn. This will only worsen the situation and make your skin prone to more burn.
Also, avoid harsh soaps that can dry out your skin. Use a gentle, moisturizing soap, like goat milk soap. You can also mix your aloe treatment with coconut oil for skin soothing and moisturizing. Remember, sunburns are burns – so always be gentle to sunburned skin. Remedies can only help in the healing process. If you want to really achieve relief from your burn, ensure to take a lot of water, water-based fruits and veggies. Lastly, bear in mind that treating sunburn requires a lot of patience and consistency with your strategies. Staying hydrated is one of the most essential things that you can do to help ease the sunburn. Sunburn dries out the skin rather severely, so the more moisture you can send to that burn, the better. So, hydrate, hydrate and hydrate!
