CD Tenerife has announced the death of striker Jesús de Miguel at the age of 30. He had been injured in a collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during a Spanish second division game.
The club said he passed away at 8am on Tuesday, November 3, one day after the incident at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium.

The clash came late in the match. De Miguel chased a loose ball and Owono, who had left his area, rushed out to clear it. The two collided heavily and the striker lay unconscious on the pitch.
Medics reached him straight away and worked on him for several minutes. He was then stretchered off and taken to the University Hospital of Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
With the score level at 2-2, the game was called off in the 108th minute so the medical team could focus on the player. Owono was shown a red card for the challenge.
Spanish media reported that De Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest after the collision and was revived by medics in the ambulance. His condition first appeared to stabilise, but it worsened in the early hours of Tuesday.
In its statement, Tenerife said it was devastated and struggling to accept the news. The club said nothing could ease the sadness, and that it stood with his family, loved ones and the whole Tenerife community. It also offered condolences to his friends, teammates and supporters.
His family thanked everyone for their messages of support and asked for privacy at this difficult time.
