Dangote Refinery Increases Petrol Price To ₦1,350/Litre

Dangote Refinery has raised its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to ₦1,350 per litre, up from ₦1,275, marking another upward shift in Nigeria’s downstream fuel market.

The latest adjustment represents a fresh increase of ₦75 and signals continued volatility in domestic fuel pricing.

According to a report by Petroleumprice.ng, which cited market sources, the revised pricing structure has already been confirmed. The suspension of Proforma Invoices on Tuesday further indicated that the new rate is now in effect across loading channels, with marketers adjusting their depot and retail strategies accordingly.

Industry stakeholders say the increase is likely to reflect in pump prices nationwide in the coming days, particularly in major consumption hubs, as operators respond to rising landing and replacement costs.

The ₦75 increase comes amid sustained pressure in the global oil market and ongoing supply-side adjustments within the domestic distribution chain, factors that continue to influence ex-depot pricing decisions.

Global oil prices have shown recent fluctuations, with crude benchmarks dipping amid renewed optimism over a potential resolution to tensions involving Iran and the possible reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route.

This latest hike comes just days after the refinery raised its ex-depot price from ₦1,200 to ₦1,275 per litre, underscoring the rapid pace of pricing changes in the sector. Notably, it is the second ₦75 increase within a single week.

Over the past month, Dangote Refinery has revised its petrol prices multiple times, reflecting shifts in crude oil costs, foreign exchange challenges, and evolving domestic supply dynamics—factors that continue to shape fuel pricing across Nigeria.
