The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for the sale of 2026 Direct Entry (DE) application forms to May 8, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their registration.
In a statement issued by its communication adviser, Fabian Benjamin, the board explained that the extension is aimed at ensuring that no qualified applicant is excluded from the admission process.
As part of efforts to ease the ongoing registration rush, JAMB also approved five additional centres to improve access and reduce congestion in key locations across the country.
The newly approved centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), Mini Campus, University of Ilorin, Kwara State; Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State; Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo State; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House), Iwaya, Lagos, which is scheduled to begin operations from April 30, 2026.
The board reassured candidates that its offices nationwide, including Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) and Professional Testing Centres (PTCs), remain fully operational to support a smooth registration process.
JAMB reiterated its commitment to expanding access to tertiary education and encouraged all prospective applicants to take advantage of the extended deadline to complete their applications.
