Macron Announces Deployment Of 85 French Rescue Workers To Venezuela

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France will immediately deploy 85 rescue workers to assist Venezuela following the devastating twin earthquakes that recently struck the South American nation.

In a statement shared on X on Thursday, Macron said France was prepared to support relief efforts in collaboration with its European partners and in response to requests from Venezuelan authorities.

He stated:

“France stands ready, together with its European partners, to provide assistance to the affected populations in response to the needs expressed by the Venezuelan authorities.”

The French leader added that a specialised rescue team would be dispatched without delay to aid search and recovery operations in the disaster-affected areas.

“A team of 85 French rescuers specialised in search and debris clearance will be deployed immediately.”

The deployment comes as emergency response efforts continue across Venezuela following the powerful earthquakes that caused significant destruction and loss of life. The French rescue personnel are expected to assist local authorities with locating survivors, clearing debris, and supporting ongoing humanitarian operations.
