The First Global Day of Prayer with Pastor Chris and Pastor Benny Hinn took place on March 27 this year, to a staggering live participation of over 3 billion people from around the world. It was a special call to prayer according to the inspiration of God’s Spirit. It was a faith response to restore hope amidst the growing fear and confusion expressed by different governments of the world in the wake of the Coronavirus epidemic. Through effective prayers, there was an assurance that the nations will be liberated from the siege of the pandemic. Christians around the world, irrespective of denominations, took a stand in unity against the forces of darkness causing panic and perplexity in the world, as they observed this Global Day of Prayer. Pastor Chris gave statistics of the devastating effect of the Coronavirus across the globe, further stressing the need for the church to pray fervently as the Church is the only restraining force of evil in the world.

Various prayer points were raised for the governments of the world, for the church, and against the demonic COVID-19 epidemic. God’s people prayed fervently, unleashing their faith. Then the Man of God, Pastor Chris declared the Coronavirus dead, stirring up great rejoicing across the globe.

The month of June witnessed the Second Global Day of Prayer, which happened to also be the ‘Month of Prayer’. The program ran from June 26 for a full 24 hours until June 27.

We bring healing to the nations and speed up the propagation of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ all over the world.”

Christmas Celebrations In Bethlehem Likely To Be Quiet

0

JERUSALEM, Israel – The little town of Bethlehem will likely be much quieter than it usually is around Christmas time.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has recommended strict guidelines for Christmas celebrations this year due to presumed coronavirus pandemic.

Annual Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem usually include thousands of pilgrims, performances, and dazzling lights.

This year, the ministry recommends that the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Manger Square be limited to just 50 people, and the tree’s lights and nearby restaurants closed by 9 p.m.

The ministry also says Christmas Eve church services should also be limited.

Palestinian officials are expected to reach a decision later this week.

Tourism, especially around Christmas time, is critical to Bethlehem’s economy. Jesus’ birthplace is usually bustling with shops and restaurants.

Limiting Christmas celebrations presents a major threat to Bethlehem’s economy, which has already been crippled by the pandemic.

Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport has been closed to tourists for months due to the virus outbreak. Israel is slowly emerging from its second lockdown in months while Palestinian officials are battling a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Telecoms providers must stop installing Huawei equipment in the UK’s 5G mobile network from September, the government has said.

The announcement comes ahead of a new law being unveiled on Tuesday, which bans the Chinese firm from the network.

Digital Secretary Oliver Dowden said he was pushing for the “complete removal of high-risk vendors” from 5G networks.

The new deadline falls earlier than expected, although maintaining old equipment will still be allowed.

Networks will now have to adjust their schedules for deployment of the reserves of Huawei 5G kit they have built up.

Previously, BT’s EE division, Vodafone and Three UK would have had until 2027 to install any such equipment acquired before the end of this year – when a purchase ban comes into effect.

Huawei told the BBC it would not be commenting on the announcement.

Israel’s first Ethiopian-born minister Pnina Tamano-Shata landed in Ethiopia on Saturday to prepare for the airlifting of 500 Ethiopian Jews to Israel on December 3.

Tamano-Shata, who serves as Israel’s Aliyah and Integration Minister, has been urging the Israeli government to bring home the thousands of Jews still waiting to make aliyah in her home country.

Tamano-Shata herself was brought to Israel from Ethiopia when she was a three-year-old during a top-secret Israeli mission called Operation Moses in 1984.

The minister hopes to bring all of the remaining members of the Ethiopian community to Israel.

The government approved the immigration of 2,000 members of the smaller Falash Mura community by February 2021.

They must receive special permission to return to Israel and are required to convert after immigrating.

Thousands of potential immigrants have been waiting at least 15 years to come to Israel. The Israeli government in 2015 passed a decision to airlift the last of the Ethiopian Jews within five years.

However, according to Jewish Agency figures, Israel has only evacuated 2,257 Ethiopians.

Prosecution: U.S. Pastor Faulted For Launching Balloons Carrying Bibles Into North Korea

A US pastor is facing prosecution after launching balloons carrying Bibles into North Korea

CEO of Voice of the Martyrs Korea, Eric Foley, has been launching the balloons into the hermit communist country for the last 15 years.

Prosecutors in South Korea are pursuing charges against Foley for violating laws governing commerce with North Korea.

Foley said Anything you might be trying to sell from South Korea to North Korea would need to be pre-approved by the government.

He is also facing charges relating to breaching national security and the use of high-pressure gas.

It follows North Korea’s attack on balloon launches earlier this year when it threatened to end a no-hostility military pact and close the North-South liaison office if South Korea allowed them to continue.

Voice of the Martyrs Korea is one of dozens of organizations involved in human rights advocacy around North Korea that is being investigated by South Korea’s Ministry of Unification.

World Magazine reports that Foley has been prevented from accessing the balloon launch site, and that the homes and offices of Voice of the Martyrs Korea staff have been placed under surveillance.

Thames Valley Police Apologises Over Breaking Up Legal Church Broadcast

0

Thames Valley Police have apologised after wrongly breaking up a legal church broadcast and pressing charges against the pastor.

Rev Daniel Mateolo said he was left feeling “deeply shocked and hurt” after nine officers disrupted an online broadcast taking place at Kingdom Faith Ministries International Church in Milton Keynes.

The broadcast, on 20 November, was part of a men’s conference to support male congregants struggling in the pandemic.

Police turned up at the Pentecostal church after receiving reports of “loud music”, and demanded that support staff working on the broadcast leave the building.

Although in-person services were banned during the second national lockdown, government guidance permitted church leaders to broadcast to their congregation online from their buildings.

Support staff deemed essential to the running of the service, like singers and sound engineers, were also permitted to be present, with no limit on this number.

Officers also claimed there were 30 people in the building at the time of the broadcast.  Pastor Mateola refuted this, saying there were only 15, each with a specific role and in separate rooms to ensure social distancing.

After breaking up the broadcast, police later turned up at the 49-year-old’s home and told him he would be prosecuted for breaking Covid-19 regulations.

Thames Valley Police have since apologised over the incident.

Deforestation of Amazon Forest Reaches 12-Year High

According to Brazil’s space agency (Inpe), deforestation of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil has surged to its highest level since 2008.

A total of 11,088 sq km (4,281 sq miles) of rainforest were destroyed from August 2019 to July 2020. This is a 9.5% increase from the previous year.

The Amazon is a vital carbon store that slows down the pace of global warming.

Scientists say it has suffered losses at an accelerated rate since January 2019.

The Brazilian president has encouraged agriculture and mining activities in the world’s largest rainforest.

The Amazon is home to about three million species of plants and animals, and one million indigenous people.
