The Nigerian leader was welcomed by Paul Kagame at the Urugwiro Presidential Village following his arrival in the East African country.

Videos shared by on Wednesday showed Tinubu stepping off a Nigerian Air Force aircraft onto a red carpet at the Presidential Wing of Kigali International Airport.

The two-day Africa CEO Forum, scheduled to hold from May 14 to 15 at the Kigali Convention Centre, is regarded as Africa’s largest annual private sector gathering.

This year’s summit, themed “Scale or Fail: Why Africa must embrace shared ownership,” is expected to attract more than 2,000 chief executives, investors, policymakers, and several African heads of state.

According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu is expected to speak on the topic, “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he will discuss the impact of ongoing economic reforms in Nigeria.

Onanuga added, “The President will also hold high-level bilateral meetings with top global and African business leaders while reaffirming Nigeria’s leadership role in shaping the continent’s future.

“President Tinubu will use the occasion of the summit to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to advancing African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation, and fostering strategic partnerships to accelerate private sector-driven sustainable development across the continent.”

The Rwanda visit forms part of Tinubu’s ongoing three-nation diplomatic tour, which began in France.

Before arriving in Kigali, the Nigerian president attended the Africa–France Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the forum ahead of the APC presidential primary scheduled for May 23.
