Seoul’s first vice foreign minister Choi Jong-kun and chief nuclear envoy Noh Kyu-duk held phone talks with their American counterparts, Wendy Sherman and Sung Kim to discuss North Korea issues.
They discussed the recent restoration of inter-Korean communication lines, which Washington called “good progress.”
South Korea highlighted the importance of constant engagement efforts for dialogue with Pyeongyang, while the U.S. reaffirmed its support for inter-Korean communication.
They agreed to continue close communication on the issue at a higher-level.
