Hamas Issues Ultimatum On Jerusalem, IDF Sends Reinforcements To Gaza Border

The Israel Defense Forces IDF said it was sending reinforcements to the Gaza Division on Monday as terror groups in the Strip threatened to step up their attacks in light of growing unrest in Jerusalem.

Shortly after the military announced the move, terrorists in the enclave fired a mortar shell toward southern Israel, which failed to clear the border and landed inside the Strip, the IDF said.

The military also announced it was closing down a number of roads and sites around Gaza, as well as train service in the area, fearing that they may come under attack shortly. Air traffic in and out of Israel was diverted away from the Strip, with planes traveling on flight paths to the north of Ben Gurion International Airport.

The city of Ashkelon opened its public bomb shelters on Monday evening as a precautionary measure, its mayor Tomer Glam said.

The Hamas terror group threatened Israel with an ultimatum on Monday afternoon, saying all Israeli security forces had to be removed from the Temple Mount and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem by 6 p.m., or else the so-called “joint operations room” — a body representing the various terror groups in the Strip — would attack.

On Monday morning, Palestinian terrorists fired three rockets toward the southern town of Sderot and surrounding communities, one of which was shot down. The other two apparently struck open fields, causing neither damage nor injury.

Jerusalem Day: Police Close Temple Mount As Major Clashes Hit Holy Site

Major clashes broke out Monday morning between police and Palestinian rioters inside Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, with hundreds said wounded, after authorities decided to bar Jews from entering the flashpoint holy site on Jerusalem Day due to spiraling tensions in the capital.

Police were also set to rule on whether to allow a planned celebratory parade by nationalist Jews through the capital, amid warnings from security officials that the Flag March could lead to a further escalation in violence.

Police entered the Temple Mount compound in the morning after thousands of Palestinians had gathered in the compound overnight, having collected numerous rocks and other makeshift weapons. Police said dozens of rioters attacked a police post and started hurling rocks from the Temple Mount toward a road south of the compound, blocking the road but causing no injuries or damage.

Sunday night saw fierce clashes between Palestinian protesters and police in Jerusalem. At least 25 people were wounded and 23 people arrested.

The Temple Mount is considered holy by both Muslims and Jews. The site contains the Al-Aqsa Mosque as claimed by Muslims as the third holiest site in Islam — and is revered by Jews as their holiest site, where both biblical Temples stood. Jews have been barred from entering the site in recent days amid the tensions, which coincide with the end of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

Exercise during heat

The fitness industry always has some weight loss claims from time to time. One popular weight loss tactic is to exercise in the heat, as doing so is believed to burn more calories.

From exercising on hot, sunny afternoons to wearing garbage bags to promote sweat loss, many people swear by this method to lose weight quickly.

Nevertheless, you may wonder whether you actually burn more calories exercising in the heat and if it’s safe to do so.

Technically, you do burn more calories in the heat. However, it comes with a major drawback.

During exercise, your body temperature increases to support increased physical demands. To prevent overheating, your body has a tightly controlled heat regulation system, which causes your body to sweat and dissipate heat into the air.

If you’re exercising in an already hot environment, your body needs to work even harder to cool your body, which requires more calories. Yet, it’s important to distinguish between a slight increase in calorie expenditure and rapid weight loss.

When exercising in hot weather or deliberately overheating your body, such as by wearing heavy clothing, you’ll naturally sweat more to cool your body. Though you may see a drop in body weight after a workout, it’s almost all due to a loss of water weight.

Furthermore, your body can easily acclimatize to new environments. While you may initially burn more calories if you’re not used to working in the heat, your body will adapt and gradually require less effort and calories to cool your body.

Also, consider your tolerance to exercising in the heat. If you don’t enjoy it or can only sustain it for short periods, you may be better off exercising in a cooler environment you enjoy so you can exercise for longer periods at a greater intensity.

All in all, though you may burn a few more calories in the heat, you’re best off choosing exercise you enjoy and can sustain in the long term.

How safe is it to exercise outside in hot weather

Exercising in the heat increases your risk of heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration.

Signs of heat exhaustion include excessive sweating, clammy skin, weakness, a weak pulse, dizziness, and headache. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop exercising, move to a cool location, and drink plenty of fluids.

If left untreated, this can lead to heat stroke, which is characterized by a body temperature of 104°F (40°C) or higher, hot and dry skin, disorientation, and in rare cases, seizures. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and requires immediate medical attention. While you can certainly exercise outside in the heat, there are important considerations to ensure your safety:

Temperature. Always check the current and forecasted temperature before exercising outdoors. The higher the temperature, the greater risk of dehydration and heat stroke.

Humidity. As humidity increases, there are more water droplets in the air. This makes it more difficult for your body to dissipate heat and sweat.

Hydration. Drinking water during any exercise is important, but it’s crucial when exercising in hot weather due to increased sweating. Be sure to sip water regularly to replace any lost fluids.

Experience. If you’re new to exercising in the heat, start slowly and reduce your normal intensity until your body adjusts. This usually takes up to 2 weeks.

Tips for exercise in hot weather

To exercise safely in hot weather, be sure to consider the following:

Wear light, breathable fabrics.

Stay hydrated with water or a sports beverage.

Look at your local heat index report. Avoid going out if it’s advised not to.

Start slowly and lower your intensity as needed.

Stop if you notice any symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Exercise in the early morning or late evening when the temperature is cooler, if possible.

While exercising in the heat may give you an additional challenge, preparing ahead of time can save you from unwanted injury and illness.

If you have a chronic condition, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, always consult a healthcare professional before starting a new exercise regimen.

Exercising in the heat can add challenge to your workout regimen. Though many believe it also helps burn more calories, the effects are minimal.

That said, if you wish to exercise in the heat, there are important safety concerns you’ll need to consider. As the temperature and humidity increase, so do your risks of heat illness and dehydration.

To ensure your safety, be sure to drink plenty of fluids, wear light and breathable fabrics, and always check the heat index report before exercising outdoors. If you’re new to exercising in the heat, start slowly at lower than normal intensities.

While you may burn a few extra calories exercising in the heat, only do so if you enjoy it and can safely tolerate it. Otherwise, exercising in cooler environments is as effective for weight loss.

4 Ways to Look Classy for Less

So by now, you should already know that it doesn’t cost a ton to look classy right? With the advent of slaying on a budget and all that stuff, not looking classy seems like a crime these days.

Looking classy most times has nothing to do with how expensive or trendy your clothes and accessories are. It’s rather more of how much they flatter your look and boost your image. It’s far more important to dress in a way that is tasteful and flattering.

In case you are wondering how to achieve the classy look with less, below are 4 simple tips on how to elevate your style and look classy without spending lots of money.

  1. Have a Unique Style

One good thing you can do to elevate your personal style is to know your body type and know what fits you.

One way to do this is to consciously note the colours and clothes you wear that gets you nice compliments and boost your body confidence. You don’t have to always go along with new fashion trends as they may be misleading and unsuitable for your persona. Always have it in mind to dress the way you want to be addressed.

As far as defining your personal style, you will find lots of helpful tips if you google the topic. Putting a label on your unique style will help you clarify and define your look, and ultimately make shopping and styling easier for you.

2. Purge your wardrobe constantly

I used to wonder why despite the fact that I have a wardrobe full of clothes, I practically always have a headache when choosing the right outfits and styling myself for events. I later realized it’s because I have a wardrobe full of junk clothes.

It’s far better to have a small, highly edited wardrobe of items you love and wear over and over, than a closet crammed full of everything you’ve purchased many years ago and doesn’t fit into your present life.

If you haven’t purged your wardrobe in a while, you should do so. It will help you get rid of items that are worn out, outdated, stained, ill-fitting, too large or too small. This way, you can clearly identify the clothing items you are lacking that would help boost your style.

3. Prioritize Grooming Habits.

As I earlier stated, wearing expensive clothes doesn’t guarantee you a classy look. Body hygiene and good grooming go a long way in promoting your look. Habits like keeping your nails and hair clean and well-groomed, taking care of your skin and teeth, wearing the right makeup and fragrance are some grooming habits that do the magic of looking classy.

The good thing is, you don’t have to break a bank to groom yourself, just apply the principle of moderation and consistency and you’re good to go. For me, the first thing I notice when meeting someone for the first time, is that person’s skin and clothes

It’s also worth investing in your appearance and fixing body defects that are fixable and won’t cost you a fortune or result in complications.

4. Ensure Neatness of Wears

Along with body hygiene and grooming, always ensure your clothes are clean and neat. Learn the proper way to care for different types of fabrics, and if in doubt, wash according to the instructions on the tag. If an item gets torn or snagged, or loose, have it repaired.

Guard against fading of clothes by buying quality fabrics and not over-washing them. Get in the habit of hanging your clothes or folding them and putting them away when you take them off. Leaving them anywhere or in a heap on the floor will affect their shape and structure over time.

Whether you spent a lot or a little on an item of clothing, taking good care of it will extend the life of the garment and keep it looking its best. Remember you can look really nice and classy with less.

Second Biggest Ethereum Cryptocurrency Breaks All-Time Record

0

Cyber currency Ethereum rose to $4,000 for the first time on Monday, climbing to a new peak for a third day in a row.

The currency soared this year, fuelled by expectations of wider use, based in part on its role in decentralised finance platforms that facilitate crypto-denominated lending outside traditional banking. However, some analysts said it was overvalued at current levels.

Another factor is the upcoming technical change to its software which will reduce its supply. New institutional investors in the crypto sector have also warmed to it amid a tepid quarter for bitcoin.

US Fears Fuel Shortage Amid Cyber Attack

0

The US government has issued an emergency legislation following a ransomware cyber-attack on the largest fuel pipeline in the country.

The Colonial Pipeline, which carries 2.5 million barrels a day – 45% of the East Coast’s supply of diesel, gasoline and jet fuel was completely knocked offline by a cyber-criminal gang on Friday and work to restore service is still ongoing.

US fuel prices at the pump were largely unaffected on Monday, but experts say that could change if the shutdown is prolonged.

Independent oil market analyst Gaurav Sharma said oil futures traders were now “scrambling” to meet demand and a lot of fuel was now stranded at refineries in Texas.

The emergency legislation relaxes rules on fuel being transported by road. This temporary waiver issued by the Department of Transportation enables oil products to be shipped in tankers up to New York, but this would not be anywhere near enough to match the pipeline’s capacity, Mr Sharma warned.

Many sources confirmed that the ransomware attack was caused by a group called DarkSide, who infiltrated the pipeline network on Thursday and took almost 100GB of data hostage promising to release it if a ransome was not paid.

Jerusalem Sees Fresh Clashes Ahead Of Nationalist March.

Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police right outside Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, have reignited ahead of planned Jewish nationalist march.

The event marks Israel’s capture of east Jerusalem and usually sees hundreds of flag-waving Israeli youth make their way through muslim areas, celebrating and singing patriotic songs, an act regarded by many Palestinians as a deliberate provocation.

This year’s march would be taking place in the final days of the Islamic month of Ramadan.

The latest violence follows days of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police in the nearby Sheikh Jarrah district of East Jerusalem. More than 200 people were injured, as crowds threw stones and officers fired stun grenades in response.

The land on which the al-Aqsa mosque sits is known by Jews as the Temple Mount and Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif (Noble Sanctuary). Jews revere it as the location of two Biblical Temples and as the holiest site in Judaism.

Papuan Independence Figure Arrested By Indonesian Police On Suspicion Of Treason.

Authorities in Indonesia have arrested Papuan independence leader Victor Yeimo on suspicions of treason. He is also being accused of orchestrating some of the most serious civil unrest in decades that broke out in 2019.

National police spokesman Iqbal Alqudusy said the 38 year old, who is the international spokesman of the West Papua National Committee, was arrested in the provincial capital of Jayapura on Sunday and is being questioned.

The president of Indonesia, Joko Widodo called for a crackdown after a senior intelligence figure was shot dead late last month, and an additional 400 troops deployed to the easternmost provinces of Indonesia where tension continues to rise.

Police are accusing Yeimo of being the “mastermind” behind the civil unrest and of committing treason, insulting the national flag and anthem, as well as inciting violence and social unrest and carrying weapons without a permit.

It is alleged that the protest erupted after a group of papuan students where verbally assaulted by a mob with racial epithets and where called “monkeys”, over accusations they had desecrated a national flag. The unrest that followed spurred calls for independence from Indonesia.

Papuan separatists have been pushing for independence for decades, saying that the 1969 vote overseen by the United Nations that brought the region under Indonesian control was illegitimate.
