The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of six defendants in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) after they were arraigned on a 13-count charge related to alleged terrorism. During proceedings that began at about 1:46pm, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), informed the court that the charges were ready and sought permission to have them read to the accused.
The hearing was briefly delayed after one defendant revealed his lawyer was unavailable, while another required an interpreter as he only understood Arabic and Hausa. When the session resumed around 2:18pm, all six defendants entered not guilty pleas. ,
The prosecution then requested their continued detention in DSS custody and called for an accelerated hearing. The trial judge granted the request, ordered that the defendants remain in DSS custody with access to legal representation, and adjourned the case to April 27, 2026, for trial to begin.
