Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved a cabinet reshuffle, relieving his Deputy Chief of Staff, Principal Private Secretary, and all political advisers serving in his administration of their appointments.
The reshuffle also affects all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants working with the state government.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola, who described the exercise as a minor cabinet reshuffle designed to reposition the administration for improved service delivery.
According to the statement, the move is aimed at creating opportunities for more members of the ruling party while injecting fresh ideas and renewed energy into the implementation of government programmes.
“The decision is meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration,” the statement said.
Governor AbdulRazaq thanked the affected officials for their contributions and dedication to his administration, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
He also directed all those affected by the reshuffle to hand over all government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The state government has not yet announced replacements for the affected appointees. However, the reshuffle is expected to pave the way for fresh appointments as the administration continues to implement its governance agenda.
